3. Chrome Extension Data Collection & Use
3.1 Public Page Content
Orbitvibe reads publicly visible data from the pages you open (e.g. influencer profiles, post pages) only when you explicitly trigger analysis or when the Extension is active on supported pages. This includes:
- Username / handle
- Number of followers, likes, comments
- Post metadata visible on the DOM
We do not access private messages, passwords, private APIs, or hidden user data.
3.2 Local Storage & Caching
We use Chrome’s storage APIs to save:
- User settings / preferences
- Recent analysis results
- Cached influencer lists for faster access
This data is stored on your device and is controlled by you.
3.3 Exports / Downloads
When you click “Export,” the extension generates and saves a file (CSV/JSON) containing the data you have permission to view (metrics, lists, etc.). This is a user-initiated action. No automatic background downloads occur.
3.4 Remote API / Configuration Data
Orbitvibe may fetch non-executable configuration or scoring data (e.g. ranking weights, similarity dictionaries) from our server (for example, https://api.orbitvibe.com/). These responses are JSON or other data formats and are consumed by scripts packaged in the extension. We do not load or execute remote JS or external code.
4. Cookies & Tracking
Our website (not the extension) may use cookies and similar technologies to enhance the user experience, manage sessions, and provide analytics for website usage. You may disable cookies via your browser settings, though this might limit site functionality.
We may use third-party analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) on our website to understand general usage patterns. For such analytics, we anonymize IPs where supported and allow opt-outs if offered.
We do not use cookies or tracking mechanisms within the extension beyond Chrome’s permissible storage APIs.
5. How We Use Collected Information
We may use both personal and non-personal information for purposes including but not limited to:
- Providing and maintaining the Extension’s features
